Sabah International Exposition (SIE) 2008

with 2 comments

Our Hospital took part in a 5-days (starting from the 15th to 19th October 2008) Exposition at 1Borneo, Kota Kinabalu. It was the largest Exposition in East Malaysia with participation from more than 20 countries and with 380 booths being set-up. being in the PR & Marketing field, I have to do a lot of talking and smiling. I’m used to the talking and smiling but after a 12hours session per day and with more than 150 people visiting our booth (public and other exhibitors), I would pretty much like to remain silent and have a straight face for at least a day. I took one day off from work so I could settle some personal things downtown. We did some free Health Screening sessions and I guess that was the reason why the public are so keen to give us a visit. Who can resist the word FREE. It’s the second most powerful word after MONEY. *kidding*. I posted some pictures below. Photos posted are not really related to our booth but these are some of the things we do while on our way back to the car park.

Mua & Patricia while going up the escalator. Amusing ourself. Hihihi.

Our corporate group Marketing Manager – Mr. Andrew , Senior Marketing (International) Executive – Mr. Shuhaimi and Senior Marketing Executive – Miss Esther is on their three days visit to our Hospital. They actually came to help us in planning some major activities and proposals to create a very good repo and exposure for our hospital. The discussion will only start tommorow as my boss had to go for another important meeting with the Executive Director. So I was requested to show these 3 nice people the other private hospitals we have around Kota Kinabalu. I am not so good with all this roads/ways but thank goodness, I was actually doing quite ok. So i brought them to all these related places and after completing what work requires us to do, all of us decided to go downtown – Mr.Andrew and Miss Esther had came to Sabah once but this is the first for Mr. Shuhaimi. Then I started to become this tour guide asking them to look at their right “that is our previous container port”, telling them to look at their left “this is Jesselton Hotel, one of the oldest hotel in KK”, when I was driving past all these places. Cramped in my Viva, I hope they don’t mind the small car I have, and the worst thing is that I haven’t been to the carwash for almost two weeks. Bad impression but luckily it was raining cats and dogs so they should know it’s raining season now in KK. Hehehe. I forgot to take my camera with me as it would be a good remembrance of their trip here. We went out of the hospital at 2pm and I sent them back to the their hotel at about 5.30pm. The day before they came, I was actually feeling a bit worried as I imagined them to be people who are very formal- as they are dealing with big corporate clients. But boy was I wrong! They were really funny peeps! I was actually enjoying the ’sightseeing’. Will post some photos later as I’ll be having dinner with them at the Revolving Restaurant tomorrow. I’m tired with all the talking and laughing I did today.
