A very patriotic me. :)

I notice something very unusual. I’m humming to the late Sudirman’s Merdeka song (forgot the exact title)! The normal me will actually be singing (gerenti lari pitching punya suara) to The Dollyrots or even Jesse McCartney. But fret not, I have the answer to this peculiarity.

My house is just beside the Likas Multipurpose Hall, and it seems that they are several people using the hall to practice singing Merdeka + Patriotic Songs, maybe they have a performance to do end of this month. I can hear them adjusting their vocals from 6pm onwards up to 10pm at night for the past two days. It’s quite annoying at first but I was actually singing to ‘Tanggal 31, Bulan 8, 57, hari yang mulia hari bahagia..lalalala’ while taking my shower. Hahaha. I was even marching while shampooing! Silly me.

Can’t wait to go for drinks end of this month. Yaaammmmmmsennngg!!!

it’s allright to be different.

I had a chat with a friend this morning (actually it was via Yahoo Messenger). A brief introduction about her, we studied in the same college back in Peninsula. She’s a KL-ians (does this word even exist??Hahaha.. owh what the heck) and she was one of my very few friends that I am in contact with since I completed my HND almost two years ago. Luckily, I live in an era where its far more easier to stay connected via emails and IM services. Hooray for that. Though I have my cellphone with me most of the time, I prefer using emails and IMs – haha, its far more cheaper as I am a very ‘kedekut’ person – I actually try not to spend my $$ on reloads (sorry as I’m getting a little carried away with my looongg explanations).

This friend of mine can actually be classified as rebellious, but honestly and personally I think she’s a good friend. Being rebellious does not mean that she’s a bad person. Hey, I don’t believe in conformity and who the fart can tell us what is normal and what is not? She has a different way of expressing her views, sorry but I cannot explain how. Maybe she was having a not so great day today and she was telling me how depressed and down she felt about her surroundings; family and friends. She told me that she was not the brightest in the family, her siblings all completed their studies abroad, graduated with flying colours, they are the nice ones and a thousand level above her in terms of accomplishments and success..this in a way made her feel inferior. She was only 15 when her world changed completely. Her life had taken a different turn and from there I believe she build a very thick wall around her to avoid getting hurt.

While chatting with her, I started to wonder…the process of growing up is actually a very crucial stage in life. Her rebellious nature is actually a form of protection. Its like a blanket to wrap her with to make sure that no one can ever step on her or hurt her . I pity her. I really do but she does not need any sympathy. What she needs are positive energies / peoples around her. *sigh*.

Another part I remembered we chatted about was the part where she wants to prove to everyone that she can achieve her own success in her own ways. The funny part was when she said ‘Bad girl pun boleh jadi kaya bah’. hahaha. She added some sabahan slang into her sentences and I was delighted in a way. Haha.

And to my dear friend, if you are reading this..”No, you did not scare me off with your stories, I was actually overwhelmed that you shared with me the details of your life. I appreciate it and you hang in there girl!”

P/S: Sorry if my writing had offended you in any way possible. Rock on babe.
